It has come to my attention through information shared among my fellowship members that paid players in the game are receiving additional compensation for the poor functionality of the arena we all endured last weekend. Although all players received a small compensation of gems in their inbox, paid players that complained via creating technical issue tickets received a second round of significantly higher value compensation.
I filed a similar ticket (as a free to play player), and requested to receive the same compensation, as I experienced the exact same arena issues. This was refused, and when confronted about only compensating the paid to play players, the technical support representative basically admitted (through refusal to deny) that people got different compensation based on spending. Although a simple “no” would serve to deny this allegation, instead the reply was (quote) “We won't be able to disclose our method of compensation as it may vary from player to player.”
This is discriminatory behavior, and is both highly unethical and deeply concerning. It results in class discrimination behavior, where players from poor parts of the world or disadvantaged financial standings are treated second-class to players who may have done nothing more than having the luck to be born in a different zip code.
Shame on you! I will be posting this highly concerning behavior in an App Store review of the game where it cannot be deleted by your admins as well. Hopefully Apple will see this and demonstrate the appropriate level of concern over it.
If you just read this and are as concerned as I am about this behavior please post here and let the game devs know that we as a gamer community will not tolerate discrimination against players who either cannot of choose not to spend large sums in the in-game store!
I have attached a screen-shot of the second round of higher value compensation the paid players received (although WB may refuse to show it to the public I don't know).
